Last year I suddenly discovered that I have what turned out to be a rather complicated tax situation involving foreign income. I’ve been to two other accountants who either did not understand it or were not able to articulate it in English. As an individual it was difficult to even get a bilingual accountant to take me on as a client, and when they did I was clearly not a priority. He was able to explain everything clearly to me in English, which immediately made me less like I was in a Kafkaesque nightmare.
